QAC Ordinance No. 19-13
On Tuesday, July 9th, a bill was submitted to the Queen Anne's County Commissioners at their meeting in Centreville to ban the release of non-biodegradable balloons. The bill was introduced by QAC District 4 Commissioner, Christopher Corchiarino, and Queen Anne's County Conservation Association Execiutive Director, Jay Falstad.
A hearing will be held for this proposed bill on Tuesday, August 13th at 5:30 pm at 107 N. Liberty Street, Centreville, Maryland. Community members are allowed to make comments limited to 3 minutes. If this bill is approved, it will go into effect on the forty sixth day following its enactment, and violators would be guilty of a civil infraction and subject to a fine of no more than $250.00.
