In partnership with volunteer organizations and individuals around the globe, Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways, identify the sources of debris and change the behaviors.
Harnessing the Power of People to Fight Ocean Trash
The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline.
What do we do at this special cleanup?
Volunteers record the trash that they collect onto a data card that we provide.
We tally all of the collected debris and send it to the Ocean Conservancy.
They place all of the records from all around the world into a Trash Free Seas Report.
This report can be used to help fight for policy changes locally, nationally, and worldwide.
